Activism, Perspective, & Propaganda

In a BLOG post titled, "Activism, Perspective, & Propaganda" students are to answer 8 of the following prompts for proficient and 11 of the following prompts for advanced.






1. What do you know about news media and what makes a news source valid? What does news being located close to Hollywood have to do with the validity?
2. What is propaganda and why is it powerful? Explain what you know about propaganda
3. Where do you find propaganda? How is that propaganda? DETAIL (don’t say “everywhere”)
4. What is the "loophole" of truth? What do you think about people using this? Explain
5. What role does PERSPECTIVE play in looking at anything (remember the angle you view the pen sitting on the table)
6. What are some of the criticisms against the KONY campaign? Explain in detail
7. What is activism? Explain it. What is your take on activism? 
8. What exactly is the KONY campaign and what is going on with it? SUMMARIZE
9. What is the difference and similarity between FACT vs. OPINION and TRUTH vs. NON-TRUTH?
10. What is the LRA? What do they do? What do they say their mission is?
11. If someone asked you what have learned in Reading class since coming back from Spring Break, what would you tell them? (remember, they will judge the class based on your response)
12. Give some information to support the thought that Americans are spoiled?
13. What are some concerns you have about propaganda? Why do you think it might be dangerous?
14. Explain what you know about non-profit organizations, and the challenges they face.
